About the Organisation

We are seeking an experienced executive to lead our Transport Assets and Operations branch, a critical delivery arm within the Infrastructure Services Group.
The Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) delivers Council’s asset management, planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance, and transport operations. Within ISG, Transport Assets and Operations is a group is entrusted with the strategic and operational oversight of a diverse range of public assets, including roads, footpaths, bridges, lighting, and bike paths. It delivers a significant capital works program while also managing substantial recurrent investment, maintenance and continuous improvement of these assets.
About the Role
As General Manager Transport Assets and Operations, you will oversee a $72M annual budget and lead a workforce of over 170 employees responsible for leading the planning and delivery of Council’s Infrastructure Programs including transport planning, public and active transport projects, and road network operations. With Brisbane’s incredible surge in population and the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon, we are seeking a visionary strategist who can deliver on future transport initiatives and infrastructure programs that align with Council’s strategic goals, community needs, and Brisbane Infrastructure priorities. This role demands championing data-driven decision-making, public and active transport infrastructure planning and identifying opportunities for emerging technologies and smart mobility to enhance customer experience and optimise network performance with the goal of increasing capacity and reducing congestion. This opportunity will see you form part of a cohesive and collaborative executive team with a focus on delivering for Brisbane.

Tertiary qualifications in business management and/or project management (or equivalent) are highly desirable.
