Our Branch

As part of the Governance and Legal Services Group, Strategic Communication and Engagement branch consists of strategic thinkers with expertise in all communication disciplines. The branch leads the centre-led coordination of Council’s communication and messaging, ensuring residents experience one unified voice across all touchpoints as ‘One Council’.

The Role

As a Senior Digital Product Officer, you will take a leading role in the ongoing management of Council’s external-facing digital channels, working with the Digital Channels and Applied AI team to deliver best practice digital marketing offerings. You will define user stories, prioritise backlogs, and ensure the conceptual and technical integrity of digital products.

You will collect and analyse data, develop strategies for measuring effectiveness, and use insights to identify opportunities for improvement. You will liaise with technical teams and vendors, manage product roadmaps, and prepare dashboards and presentations for stakeholders. You will also maintain awareness of digital trends, support agile delivery, and ensure content and data are current, accurate, and accessible.

To be successful you will bring:

  • experience in digital product management, including identifying opportunities, scoping requirements, and prioritising work
  • project management skills and experience supporting major initiatives, ideally in an agile environment
  • strong understanding of user experience principles and customer-centred design
  • solid understanding of data analytics and the ability to use data to drive engagement
  • excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to recommend improvements
  • (Desirable) familiarity with local government, SEO, digital marketing, and enterprise content management systems
