Our Branch

Project Management Branch (PMB) delivers project management, assurance and commercial services for service owners across Council. We work closely with asset owners to turn approved investments into delivered infrastructure and services, while improving how projects are planned, governed and tracked across the full lifecycle.

Story Bridge Renewal Program

Brisbane City Council is extending the life of the Story Bridge for another 100 years. This incredible role will join the Story Bridge Renewal Program, a dedicated team that is leading the restoration of Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge.

The Role

Lead the Environment, Planning and Property workstream for the Story Bridge Renewal Program, acting as the client-side manager and coordinating specialist consultants and internal subject matter experts to deliver environmental, planning, heritage, sustainability and property outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. You will further contribute to procurement planning and delivery activities, including development of technical specifications, contract requirements and management arrangements relevant to the workstream. Success in this role will require the ability to operate effectively within a complex and dynamic major infrastructure program, navigating evolving priorities, emerging risks, multiple stakeholder interfaces and an evolving organisational environment while maintaining focus on successful delivery outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

• demonstrated experience in environmental management associated with major infrastructure, construction or capital delivery projects.
• demonstrated knowledge of environmental, statutory planning and heritage legislation, approval frameworks and management principles relevant to major infrastructure projects.
• demonstrated experience and understanding of statutory planning, heritage, sustainability and property considerations and their application within complex infrastructure or development environments.
• demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate specialist consultants, technical advisors and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• demonstrated ability to contribute to procurement and contract management activities and manage specialist consultants within a project delivery environment.
• demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills, including the ability to manage complex workstream related issues and provide sound professional advice and recommendations.
• demonstrated high level communication, including high level written and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

A valid Criminal History Check is a mandatory requirement for this role.
