The Role
Our highly qualified arboriculture teams are responsible for providing tree maintenance across Brisbane, utilising innovative arboriculture best practice and methodology, which are environmentally sound, effective and cost-effective. Working in a team of three, you will work a nine-day fortnight, with every second Friday as a day off, with the option to work overtime and on weekends, plus payment of allowances as appropriate.
As well as the ground work, your fitness is relied on as you will be required to climb and use rope techniques to access and move around the trees at heights. You will also be required to use your advanced rigging abilities to lower branches with best practise, ensuring safety and care for the environment and the people.
In the role you will:
- have a positive attitude with a keen desire to add to the performance of the team
- hold a Certificate III in Arboriculture or have 3 years equivalent experience in arboricultural practices with experience in the use of a range of industry machinery and tools
- be willing to assist in staff training including specialist climbing techniques, branch walking, tree removal and pruning in difficult situations
- undertake tree maintenance using ropes, harnesses, pulleys and other specialised equipment used for climbing trees or methods to complete the task in a safe and professional manner
- apply chemicals using correct techniques and application methods in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and Workplace Health and Safety practices
- have competent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete paperwork and communicate effectively with customers in a confident and professional manner
- ensure that appropriate warning devices are correctly displayed to provide a safe working environment
- operate and maintain all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and standard operating procedures.
To be considered for this role you must hold a current Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s licence.
