Our Branch

Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. 

ISB leads the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.

The Role

We are currently seeking a talented ITSM System Administrator to contribute to the growth and enhancement of our ITSM System Management platform. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with ITSM or Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platforms, such as BMC Helix or ServiceNow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop new features for the ITSM platform
  • design and implement efficient and scalable questionnaires, forms, and fulfillment workflows
  • enhance the functionality of the ITSM platform
  • troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance and user experience
  • conduct code and design reviews, providing feedback to maintain code quality
  • stay current with industry trends and best practices in ITSM platform development
  • administer changes to the ITSM system environment, ensuring ongoing supportability and integrity, including data maintenance and cleanup
  • advise on the suitability of functionality, reference data, configuration, and operations of the ITSM system.

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • demonstrated experience managing the configuration and operation of complex, multi-user IT systems and related databases
  • experience with ITSM systems and related applications that interface with the core ITSM solution
  • well-developed analytical, conceptual, systems design, and problem-solving skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare business requirements specifications and deliver presentations
  • ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external service providers
  • experience utilizing liaison, influencing, and negotiation skills to impact IT and business decisions for technical and non-technical audiences
  • capability to contribute to team direction, provide and receive feedback, and achieve agreed performance standards.

While not mandatory for the role, experience with the BMC Helix or ServiceNow application, current ITIL version 3 or 4 certification and tertiary qualification in IT or a related business discipline, would be highly regarded for this role.
