The Role
As the Principal Banking Specialist, you will support the management of Brisbane City Council’s corporate banking function, providing specialist advice across transactional banking arrangements and services. The role focuses on ensuring banking services are delivered to agreed performance standards, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
To be successful you will have:
- ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence
- proven experience in the management, negotiation, administration and resolution of issues regarding large corporate banking and related contracts
- demonstrated ability in evaluating proposals using financial modelling and analysis techniques including the use of business models
- demonstrated experience in undertaking research, analysis and modelling to provide recommendations or solutions to current or emerging issues
- substantial experience in providing a financial and business advisory service to senior managers and other customers including financial analysis, planning and management reporting
- highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain relationships with staff at all levels of an organisation
- demonstrated high-level organisation skills to work with minimal supervision and to meet tight deadlines, operating in an environment of competing priorities
- advanced experience in the use of business software, database management/interrogation and corporate accounting systems
