Our Business
Transport Assets and Operations (TAO) have a key role to play in planning and maintaining Council's transport network and in implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to enable the efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight.
Policy Strategy and Planning (PSP) provide strategic advice on a range of transport matters to support population and employment growth and influence the development of Brisbane’s transport network and ensure the best possible outcomes for the city.
The Behaviour Change Team’s role is to manage programs that support our infrastructure investment through initiatives to encourage the use of active and sustainable modes of transport which reduce congestion and support a clean, healthy, and more sustainable city.
The Role
The Program Support Officer supports the Cycling Brisbane and Active School Travel team to coordinate bike skills workshops. This will include scheduling and using Council’s online booking systems, coordinating supplier contracts, contributing to reports and occasionally attending events to deliver behaviour change projects.
You will collaborate closely with the other members of the behaviour change team. The role is varied, and the successful applicant will be keen to be involved in aspects of the program.
We are seeking a highly energetic and proactive support officer with a passion for active transport and making a difference for the people of Brisbane.
In this role you will:
- liaise, engage, consult, and communicate with suppliers to schedule community bike workshops
- upload workshop information to enable bookings by the community
- conduct bike workshop audits and manage supplier contracts and compliance documents
- manage the raising of purchase orders and process payments to suppliers in SAP Ariba
- analyse bike workshop attendance data to inform future programming
- work closely with the Cycling Brisbane project manager to develop reports and newsletter content
- support the delivery of travel behaviour change programs and events.
To be successful you will have:
- planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities across projects and teams, with limited supervision
- great problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative to resolve issues
- engaging interpersonal skills with experience in developing and managing stakeholder relationships
- good written skills and experience preparing reports, correspondence and presentations
- responsive customer service skills
- ability to cohesively work with the team to research and develop program plans and events and assist with their implementation.
