Every day, Finance plays a critical role in creating positive outcomes for the community by ensuring Council’s financial sustainability.

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled change and communications professional who can drive meaningful transformation and engage stakeholders at all levels. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and delivery of integrated change management and communications initiatives supporting a complex finance operating model transformation. Working within a collaborative matrix environment, you will partner with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of a new service delivery model and broader transformation agenda. Your expertise will help build organisational readiness, embed sustainable change, and enable the delivery of contemporary, customer-focused services that support continuous improvement and long-term financial sustainability.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated leadership capabilities aligned with Council’s Leadership Blueprint, with a strong commitment to performance excellence and fostering a values-led culture
  • extensive experience applying organisational change management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices to deliver successful transformation outcomes
  • strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, change planning, governance, business impact assessment, and organisational readiness
  • proven success leading and delivering end-to-end change and communication initiatives within large, complex organisations
  • exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • the agility to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to changing environments, and collaborate effectively within matrix and cross-functional teams.

Desirable Qualifications

  • tertiary qualifications in Change Management, Communications, Business, Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related discipline
  • postgraduate qualifications in Management, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a similar field will be highly regarded.
