Our Branch
Facilities Services is responsible for the delivery of facilities management across Council’s property portfolio. Operating within a collaborative FM/AFM model, the team focuses on maintaining safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose assets, with a strong emphasis on contractor management, asset performance and service reliability.
The Role
As part of Facilities Services, you will support the delivery of facilities management services across an assigned portfolio of properties. Working in partnership with a facilities Manager, you will help ensure Council’s assets are maintained to a high standard, services are delivered efficiently, and risks are effectively managed.
This is a hands-on operational role with a strong focus on contractor oversight, maintenance coordination and compliance. You’ll be working across a diverse portfolio, balancing competing priorities while ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- supporting the day-to-day delivery of facilities management services across assigned properties
- undertaking site inspections to assess asset condition, identify risks and verify contractor works
- scoping and coordinating preventative, reactive and condition-based maintenance activities
- assisting in managing maintenance contracts, including monitoring performance and service delivery
- preparing scopes of work, obtaining quotations and supporting procurement activities
- coordinating contractors on site to ensure safe access, minimal disruption and clear accountability
- responding to urgent or critical issues and supporting timely resolution
- monitoring works delivery against budgets to ensure value for money
- maintaining accurate records, service reports and asset information
- liaising with internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers to support effective outcomes
To be successful you will have:
- practical knowledge of facilities management disciplines such as HVAC, fire systems, electrical and hydraulics
- demonstrated experience coordinating maintenance and contractor-delivered works across multiple sites
- strong contract administration and contractor performance management capability
- ability to scope works clearly and manage competing priorities across a large portfolio
- sound understanding of WHS requirements and statutory maintenance obligations
- strong attention to detail with a focus on verifying works and ensuring compliance
- effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure or urgent situations
- current “C” class driver’s licence
