Salary Range: Band 8 $150,432 - $162,791 + Superannuation

(Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

The Role :

The Budget and Forecasting Specialist leads the coordination of Council’s budget and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with strategic priorities. The role is responsible for the delivery of consolidated budgets, forecasts and management reports, providing reliable advice and analysis to the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Management Group and elected Council members. The role ensures consistency and quality in budget and forecast preparation and reporting and supports the financial sustainability of Council. 

To be successful you will have:     

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in budget coordination and financial reporting within a large, complex organisation
  • Demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and consolidate enterprise-wide budget processes and forecasting
  • Proven success in providing reliable analysis and advice to executives and elected members
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience building relationships across divisions
  • Proven ability to mentor and support professional staff in forecasting, budget preparation and coordination.
