Then the Planetarium Administration Officer role is for you!  

Our Branch: 

Community Facilities leads the management of Council-owned Community facing assets which includes Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. The team manage the day-to-day operation of the facility and coordinate various events and attractions. 

The Role: 

As Planetarium Administration Officer, you will play a key role assisting with the day-to-day administration duties for Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. 

Based at Mt Coot-tha, working in a small team, you will provide memorable customer service to visitors of the Planetarium. Your role will include greeting customers and answering general queries, ticket and merchandise sales, online bookings, phone enquiries, reception, data entry, ushering and crowd management. 

Due to the nature of our business, we require your flexibility as a casual staff member to be available for regular weekend and evening work, including outside of normal Planetarium hours for functions and special events. 

To be considered for the role you will have: 

  • exceptional customer services skills 
  • ability to prioritise work and multi-task 
  • effective communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills 
  • sound computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
