Infrastructure Services brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities. Our Branch  

Construction is responsible for delivering a range of infrastructure projects, such as civil construction and road network maintenance. The Construction branch carries out essential activities including asphalt production, paving, and overseeing major projects. 

The Role

The role provides comprehensive onsite administrative, operational and technical support for the depot, and acts as a central point of contact for staff, visitors, systems and documentation. It includes records and compliance administration, in-person support to depot staff, and coordination activities that contribute to efficient day-to-day operations.

You’ll play a key role in keeping the depot running smoothly, ensuring information, systems and processes are accurate, organised and accessible.

In this hands-on role, you’ll build strong relationships across the team while delivering responsive, customer-focused support. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, streamline processes and support small projects that enhance operational efficiency. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • provide efficient, proactive and reliable administrative services in line with operational requirements and work priorities
  • deliver a high-quality customer interface when dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • access, track and update Council business systems, including SAP procurement processes such as invoicing and accruals, under general guidance
  • maintain effective administrative systems and procedures to support corporate and business obligations
  • undertake small projects and research tasks as required
  • act as the primary onsite administrative contact at the depot, including managing visitor access, deliveries and general enquiries
  • provide consistent in-person support to field staff, supervisors, engineering staff, management and visitors throughout the day.

To be successful you will have:

  • extensive experience delivering high-quality administrative and business support services
  • strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external customers
  • well-developed organisational, time management, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • a high level of organisation and attention to detail
  • demonstrated knowledge of, or the ability to quickly adapt to, corporate systems, processes and software packages while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • knowledge of Council administrative policies and procedures.
