The Role
Have you ever wondered how a “dog off leash area” is created in your park - we have the role for you!
We are looking for a motivated and organised professional to support our vision of keeping our greenspaces functional and modern. This role coordinates the design and construction of Community Infrastructure projects. Think family BBQ’s, kids laughing in playgrounds, dog’s frolicking off leash. It oversees the activities of service providers ensuring efficient and effective delivery of the program of works.
You will work in an experienced and collaborative team who are passionate about delivering projects on time and within budget. Your financial and project management skills will combine well with your knowledge of construction to ensure success in this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
- coordinating the design and construction of playgrounds, picnic facilities, fitness equipment, drinking fountain projects and the like
- ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to Council’s specification
- providing cost estimations for planned projects role modelling customer focused behaviour by delivering the highest standards of service to our customers
- working to agreed performance standards and mutual expectations
- liaising with stakeholders to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships
- completing project specifications and documentation for procurement activities.
To be successful you will have:
- ability to successfully manage projects within time and financial constraints
- highly developed customer service, interpersonal and relationship building skills
- numeric, complex reasoning and negotiation skills
- sound verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work autonomously whilst contributing to team goals
- ability to contribute to team direction and contribute to a culture of performance excellence, a knowledge of the construction industry and procurement procedures.
