Together, these branches help keep our city moving. Whether by bus, CityCat or ferry, e-bike or e-scooter, and Metro, our group manages bus contracts with Translink, ferry, e-mobility scheme and personalised public transport operators, that enable us to support the transport choices of Brisbane residents and visitors.
Our Branch
Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for:
- Provides first line bus maintenance at depot garage
- Provides second line maintenance at the Toowong Bus Workshops
- Establishes and regularly reviews fleet maintenance policies and standards
- Management of bus maintenance processes to ensure compliance with policies and standards
- Procurement of bus fleet and associated products and services
- Asset management and maintenance, of electrical charging infrastructure
- Investigation and review of incidents involving the bus fleet and/or other TfB infrastructure
- Management of non-bus facilities and assets
- Management and coordination of major projects
- Coordination of divisional information technology requirements.
The Role
We are hiring a Store Person to ensuring the smooth operation of bus services by managing maintenance data and sourcing spare parts efficiently from accredited suppliers.
The position focuses on maintaining stock availability, controlling costs, and ensuring all procurement activities provide the best value for money while supporting the operational needs of the garage.
Responsibilities include organising ordering and delivery of parts, reconciling work orders, maintaining maintenance schedules, and ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing. You will also manage stock levels, create work orders for workshop and plant maintenance, and establish swoop and blanket orders as required.
In addition, the role involves collecting and analysing data from financial and maintenance systems to advise stakeholders on trends in parts utilisation, cost effectiveness, and purchasing efficiency.
Accurate data entry and maintenance of records in line with established procedures are also essential to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement within the Garage.
To be successful you will have:
- competent in data entry and confident using computer systems such as SAP, RM, and Microsoft Office
- basic understanding, or quick ability to learn, mechanical terminology and maintenance practices to support timely service delivery
- strong organisational and time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks and manage competing or urgent demands
- clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of, and ability to apply, Environmental Protection and Workplace Health and Safety requirements in an operational setting
- possession of a current forklift licence/or in the process of obtaining.
