Personnel Area: Transport for Brisbane 

Branch: Engineering and Asset Management 

Salary Range: $46 per hour (AUD 1,540 per week) + overtime, penalty rates, 14% super + 17.5% leave loading + onsite gym, uniforms supplied, 38-hour week, nine-day fortnight (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Location: Garden City – Upper Mount Gravatt 

Rapid future growth in our bus fleet, means we are upskilling our teams, creating space in our Garden City garage location for 3 permanent full-time Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.   

Garden city Garage maintains a fleet of 170 vehicles consisting of a mixture of compressed natural gas and diesel engine powered rigid, Tag steer and articulated buses.  

The existing team is a close-knit, hard-working team of Mechanics, coach builders, auto electricians and bus assistants that value and actively promote a positive and committed team culture.  

The workshop is staffed 365 days a year, 21 hours a day with staff working a nine-day fortnight on a Monday – Friday roster and the ability to do additional paid overtime and optional weekend work.  

Located centrally with easy access from all the main motorways, with an onsite cafeteria, gym, and secure parking.  These shifts work 0500 - 1400, Monday to Friday, attracting additional penalty rates.

Transport for Brisbane employees also have access to free bus travel in the Brisbane area. 

You must hold a trade certificate Level III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology as well as a current C class licence, with training provided to upgrade to a HR licence. 

You will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
