Our Branch
The Commercial Services & Business Improvement (CSBI) Branch's purpose is to drive improvement, agility, and resilience, by providing support to City Standards (CS) and more broadly across Infrastructure Services (ISG), making it easier and safer to deliver outcomes for the community.
The Role
The Business Improvement Officer plays a key role in the journey of continuous improvement – bringing fresh thinking, sharp analysis and clear communication to solve problems and drive meaningful change. This exciting role will be responsible for supporting Infrastructure Services to transform the way we manage safety in supporting our safety strategy aligning with industry best practise and embedding a culture of safety excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- lead and support safety-focused improvement initiatives across the business
- conduct in-depth research and analysis to drive and develop process and systems improvements, using up-to-date methodologies and tools
- compile and analyse safety data to identify trends and key areas for improvement including transforming it into clear, actionable reports
- track, monitor and report on improvement initiatives and outcomes
- build strong relationships across teams and stakeholder groups.
About You
To be successful you will have:
- current C class driver licence
- demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- well-developed research, analytical and problem solving skills
- strong understanding of Power Bi and the Microsoft Office suite to develop professional documents such as toolbox talks, safety and compliance reports and resources
- knowledge of safety legislation and codes of practice, with the ability to interpret and apply
- strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and engage across all levels to drive continuous improvement
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- background in Safety/Project Management viewed favourably.
