Our Branch   

The Construction Branch is a rapidly growing business unit servicing the people who live, work, study or visit Brisbane. Dedicated to delivering a wide range of specialist services.  

The Role 

In this role you will work closely in a small team to meet project performance and customer expectations. You will do this through excellent team work to carry out a range of labouring activities in Traffic Network Services across Council’s assets. We are seeking a candidate who is proactive and ideally has 2IC experience with the ability to support their team leader and step into team leadership where required, ensuring the progress of works is maintained to a high standard.   

General job tasks will include: 

• general labouring tasks using general hand tools, electrical tools and maintenance equipment 
• Installation of electrical pits conduits and concrete footings, working with machinery and plant operators to install infrastructure. 
• contribute to team processes and working efficiently to meet project timeframes.  

To be successful you will have: 

• demonstrated civil construction experience  
• the ability to carry out daily tasks safely in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures 
• the ability to assist in setting up site housekeeping and prepare for daily activities efficiently.  
• the ability to contribute to a team direction in a faced pace work environment. 
• Ability to direct plant and team members to meet project requirements. 

Mandatory qualifications  

• ‘C’ class drivers’ licence  
• Construction White Card  

Desirable qualification  

• MR Licence and Asbestos removal tickets  

Note: this role requires a pre-employment medical assessment, to assess your ability to perform the occupational requirements of the role.
