Salary Range: AUD $95,346 – $108,078 per annum + 14% superannuation
(Remuneration stated is for full-time positions)

The Role

As an Environmental Health Officer within Council, you will utilise your well-developed knowledge of public health and environment to achieve outcomes for our city and residents. Acting on behalf of Council, you will perform your role as an Authorised Officer, exercising delegated powers to apply legislation and local laws.
A typical day as an Environmental Health Officer may include licensing, auditing and complaint-based investigation in areas of food safety, personal appearance, public health and environmental protection.
Brisbane City Council maintains a strong enforcement policy, underpinned by robust processes and comprehensive guidelines that effectively support officers in carrying out their regulatory duties.
We are seeking suitably qualified Environmental Health Officers and welcome applicants with all levels of practical experience.

About You
We are seeking self-motivated and passionate team players, who have the courage and initiative to make a positive difference to the city of Brisbane and its residents.
To be successful, you will have:
- a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (please see the link) https://www.eh.org.au/workforce/accredited-courses
- an open 'C' class driver’s licence
- well-developed time management and organisational skills
- excellent communication, research, and problem-solving skills
- a solid understanding of environmental health principles and legislation.
This position requires a Criminal History Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
