(Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time

Duration: Up to 6 months (Extension/s thereafter but not guaranteed).

Our efficient back-of-house support ensures more resources can be focused on Council’s front-line service delivery.

The Role

We’re looking for 2 x experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Specialists to support the effective delivery of billing and debt recovery services.

In this role, you’ll use your strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, legislation, and financial systems to manage complex matters, support customers, and drive improvements across the business. You’ll also partner with teams across Council to deliver high-quality, efficient services that create value for the community.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

  • coordinating billing and debt recovery activities, including sundry accounts and outstanding rates
  • ensuring all activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and quality standards
  • providing expert advice on complex credit and debt matters to internal teams and customers
  • supporting customers with sensitive or complex enquiries, using a professional and empathetic approach
  • monitoring performance, analysing trends, and recommending improvements
  • identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • working closely with finance, legal, and operational teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes
  • contributing to planning and supporting delivery of team and business objectives
  • supporting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus.

To be successful you will have: 

  • strong ability to work collaboratively, give and receive feedback, and contribute to team success
  • well-developed business and commercial judgement in a complex environment
  • solid experience in accounts receivable, including knowledge of financial systems and relevant legislation
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and improve processes
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement
  • established Team Leader experience with a track record of managing and developing teams is required.
