Our Branch
Information Services Branch (ISB) supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. ISB leads the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.
The Role
The primary purpose of the Application Analyst role is to support the effective implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of a defined portfolio of Council’s business-critical applications. Reporting to the Application Portfolio Manager, this newly created position has been established to enhance application ownership and accountability across key ICT systems that underpin core Council functions.
The role is responsible for providing specialist advice and technical support to ensure a positive experience for application users. With a focus on continuous service improvement, the Application Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to monitor performance, address issues, and contribute to roadmap development in alignment with Council’s strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- support applications including Records Manager (Content Manager), CMX, LGhub, and InMailX:
- support the development and maintenance of application profiles and documentation to ensure operational clarity, supportability, and alignment with business requirements.
- provide customer-focused support and advice to key stakeholders enable effective and efficient use of supported applications.
- work closely with business stakeholders to identify needs, assess system performance, and recommend enhancements to meet service standards and user expectations.
- coordinate and monitor the delivery of application services, ensuring performance obligations are met by internal and external providers.
- support the development of application roadmaps in consultation with business stakeholders, vendors, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure systems remain fit-for-purpose.
- contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives across the application portfolio, identifying opportunities for enhanced functionality, process automation, or user experience improvements.
- ensure adherence to ICT service management processes including incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management.
- participate in testing, business continuity, and system resilience planning activities to support reliable service delivery and minimise business risk.
- develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external service providers to ensure application support and development activities align with Council’s strategic objectives.
- assist with vendor engagement, including monitoring service performance, managing escalations, and contributing to financial planning for vendor-provided services.
- support change initiatives and project delivery by representing application interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring smooth transition to operational support.
- promote a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and innovation within the team and across stakeholder groups.
This role requires a Criminal History Check for preferred candidates.
