Salary Range: Band 4 $89,207 - $95,764 + Superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions) 

Work type: Temporary Full-time

The Role  

As a Library Systems and Data Officer, you will be at the heart of delivering and supporting the technology that powers Brisbane’s public libraries. This role is hands on and dynamic, involving the management and troubleshooting of key systems such as the Library Management System (LMS), Public PC Bookings and Payment Solution (PPBPS), RFID, WiFi, and audio-visual technologies. You will work closely with branch staff to ensure these systems run smoothly, and play a key role in training and supporting staff in their use. 

You will also lead data management and reporting, helping to improve service delivery and customer experience through insights and process improvements. Your work will include distribution of monthly statistics, updating procedures on SharePoint, supporting IT asset management, and leading small scale technology projects across the library network. This is a role for someone who enjoys data management, solving problems, sharing knowledge, and making a meaningful contribution to how libraries serve the community. 

To be successful you will have: 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with LMS, PPBPS, and other library technologies. 
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors. 
  • Demonstrated experience in data management and process improvement. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear instructions and support. 
  • A passion for emerging technologies and their application in public libraries. 
  • Ability to lead small technology projects and contribute to team performance goals. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Power BI and other relevant software platforms. 
  • A commitment to customer service and continuous learning.
