Infrastructure Services brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities. Construction is responsible for delivering a range of infrastructure projects, such as civil construction and road network maintenance. The Construction branch carries out essential activities in the areas of civil infrastructure, stormwater drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades, and land remediation.

The Role

We are seeking two motivated and detail-focused Senior Contracts Officers in the Contracts team within Construction. This team plays a critical role in delivering contract works within the branch and helps ensure high quality, value for money solutions.

Based at the Regional Operations Centre at Trade Coast Central in Eagle Farm, this role provides many opportunities for you to develop a broad skill set in procurement functions, whilst offering some exposure to contract administration and construction activities. Being highly organised and flexible in how you approach your work is key to this role as each day can present different challenges and priorities.

As the Senior Contracts Officer, you will:

  • assist Contract Managers in drafting contract and procurement documentation in accordance with Council procurement procedures, policies and guidelines;
  • provide administrative support for tendering, evaluation, administration of contracts and management of contractor performance;
  • liaise with other members of Construction Branch to provide assistance in procurement and administration contract systems.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in drafting contract and procurement documents in accordance with Council policies and guidelines;
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in tendering and contract administration principles and practices;
  • the ability to work effectively within a multi-functional team environment, responding effectively to customer requirements to achieve operational outcomes;
  • project, team and individual organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and achieve agreed service standards and timelines in a dynamic environment
  • strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage with a range of stakeholders;
  • the ability to contribute positively to team performance through collaboration, continuous improvement and constructive feedback;
