About the Role and Team

Located in Eagle Farm, this role oversees daily operations at Council’s largest inventory warehouse and distribution hub, enabling efficient service delivery across the city.
As a Warehouse and Distribution Team Leader, you will provide strong, visible leadership to a team of up to 20 employees in a fast‑paced operational environment. You will focus on building capability, driving efficient work practices, and embedding digitally enabled ways of working while ensuring compliance with safety, policy, and operational requirements. This role plays a key part in fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, supporting high performance and reliable services that strengthens Council’s connection with the community.
You can be part of Council, which has a central role in readying Brisbane for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games over the coming years. In this key role, you will partner with other committed leaders and subject matter experts to drive innovation across systems, tools, and service delivery.
As Team Leader, you will
- Motivate, coach, and lead your team to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality operational outcomes
- drive continuous improvement and smarter ways of working
- be responsible for regular fleet and equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal operational efficiency
- build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
- apply effective inventory management practices to maintain accurate, tightly controlled, and transparent stock levels
- provide effective operational leadership during emergency and disaster response activities
- ensure a safe, compliant workplace, and foster a values-driven culture aligned with Council’s Leadership Blueprint.
What you will bring
- Proven experience leading warehouse and distribution operations in a large, complex organisation
- sound knowledge in industry standard warehousing practices
- strength in logistics dispatch and fleet coordination
- proven experience using enterprise ERP systems to support inventory control, asset tracking, and compliance reporting
- a commitment to safety and a core understanding of WHS requirements
- strong communication and negotiation skills
- ability to juggle competing priorities with calm, confidence and clarity.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications (Business, Commerce, Logistics)
- medium Rigid (MR) licence
- forklift licence.
