Salary Range: $1,616.20 per week + superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time
Duration: Up to 12 months (extensions thereafter but not guaranteed)
Location: Brisbane. The team is based centrally; however the work is predominately field based servicing the whole of Brisbane Local Government Area
Flexibility: shift work on a rotating 24 hour a day roster with 8 days on – 6 days off each fortnight

Rapid Response Group (RRG) is Council’s 24/7 frontline compliance response team. We provide a first response for time critical public safety issues such as dog attacks, footway hazards and obstructions, parking complaints, interference with protected vegetation and pollution incidents. In addition to this, we also provide after-hours assistance to other CARS units gathering evidence to progress current investigations. During a disaster or severe weather event, you will become the rapid assessment team carrying out damage assessment and hazard identification for the Local Disaster Co-ordination Centre.
This position requires an individual who is proactive, resourceful, and committed to maintaining safety and compliance across Brisbane’s Local Government Area.
To be successful you will have operational understanding and practical experience in the application of Brisbane City Council’s regulatory framework - in particular, legislation, local laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines relating to local government licensing and regulatory compliance in Queensland.
Besides being passionate about providing great service to the people of Brisbane, we need you to be able to:
- work autonomously, flexibly and responsively
- handle challenging situations and highly emotional people
- utilise empathetic and non-escalating inter-personal communication skills
- undertake investigation of legislative breaches, gather evidence, conduct interviews and statements in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- present evidence in Court
