Our Branch
Compliance and Regulatory Services (CARS) plays a vital role in protecting community safety, wellbeing and amenity by administering and enforcing Council’s regulatory responsibilities in a fair, ethical and community‑focused way. The branch works across investigation, regulation, enforcement and education to ensure compliance with legislation while supporting positive outcomes for residents, businesses and visitors.

The Role
As a Program and Contracts Specialist, you’ll sit at the heart of how Compliance and Regulatory Services delivers high‑quality, trusted outcomes for Brisbane’s community. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll help shape strategic thinking, strengthen business performance and drive continuous improvement across a complex regulatory environment. From coordinating planning and reporting to providing insightful analysis and advice, this role gives you real influence over how services are designed, governed and improved - making it ideal for someone who enjoys connecting strategy with practical delivery.
You’ll also play a key role in managing and supporting regulatory contracts, partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure services are delivered effectively, ethically and in line with Council’s obligations. This is a role for a confident relationship‑builder who thrives on collaboration, enjoys solving complex problems and takes pride in delivering work that has visible impact.

To be successful you will have:
- proven experience providing strategic advice, analysis and insights to senior stakeholders in a complex or regulated environment
- strong contract and business management capability, with the ability to balance governance, risk and value while supporting effective service delivery
- excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing high‑quality reports, briefings and presentations for diverse audiences
- demonstrated success leading or contributing to strategic projects, continuous improvement initiatives or cross‑functional work programs
- well‑developed relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to collaborate, influence and work effectively across teams and with external partners.
