The Role

Join Brisbane City Council as a Builders Jackhammer Labourer within our Public Space Operations team. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of signage assets across the city, ensuring compliance with legislative standards and contributing to a safe and well-maintained urban environment. You’ll work closely with your team leader, operate machinery and tools, and uphold Council’s commitment to customer service and safety.

This position offers variety and responsibility, including on-call roster participation, quality checks, and coordination with contractors when required. You’ll represent Council professionally, maintain accurate records, and ensure all work meets industry standards. If you enjoy practical outdoor work, take pride in delivering quality outcomes, and value teamwork, this role is for you.

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience in signage repairs and maintenance, including troubleshooting
  • Ability to interpret work plans and work under limited supervision
  • Strong literacy and communication skills for paperwork and customer interaction
  • Commitment to safety and willingness to participate in an on-call roster and after hours work requirements.
