Brisbane City Council's Corporate Traineeship program is an opportunity to gain experience in a professional business environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Business).
As a Business Trainee, you'll gain hands-on experience while supporting a range of business functions across Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop practical workplace skills, build professional networks and gain valuable experience within one of Australia's largest local governments.

About the team
Business Trainees may be placed within a range of Council teams, including:
- Administration services
- Safety Branch
- Finance Operations
- Branch Operations
- Creative and Community Partnership team
Each placement offers exposure to different aspects of Council operations and provides an opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills while contributing to meaningful work.
As a trainee, your duties may include:
- Providing administrative support to a team.
- Assisting with document preparation and record management.
- Maintaining databases and business systems.
- Coordinating meetings, bookings and team activities.
- Supporting projects and operational initiatives.
- Assisting with customer and stakeholder enquiries.
- Preparing reports, correspondence and meeting materials.
- Working collaboratively with a range of teams across Council.
