Our Branch  

The Compliance and Regulatory Services Branch (CARS) contributes to the health, safety and amenity of Brisbane through a range of licensing and best practice regulatory services. These services are related to environmental health, land use and built environment, animal management, asset use and the natural environment, to maintain the liveability, vibrancy and accessibility of Brisbane. 

The Role 

Two temporary opportunities for Parking Supervisors are available in the Parking Compliance team, which delivers highly visible and efficient responses to Council’s regulatory obligations across the City.  

As a Parking Supervisor you will exercise Council’s Leadership Blueprint values to efficiently lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 direct reports, across the Parking Compliance and Illegal Dumping unit including the:  

  • Suburban Safety Team which addresses complaints from the public regarding illegal parking 
  • Traffic Compliance Team which proactively engages with the public and enforces parking regulations within metropolitan areas of Brisbane 
  • Smart Technology Team which utilises remote sensing and mobile enforcement technology to investigate illegal dumping offences and parking offences. 

These teams undertake proactive and reactive parking compliance services in respect to Local Laws and Queensland Government legislation. In support of this, it is essential that you demonstrate and lead your team in executing good governance, to ensure the best possible compliance outcomes for the people of Brisbane.   

To be a successful Parking Supervisor you will: 

  • have the ability to effectively interpret a regulatory framework, in particular legislation, local laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines relating to local government licensing and regulatory compliance in Queensland.  
  • demonstrate evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture 
  • produce reports, submissions, guidelines, procedures, manuals, policies and presentations as required.  
  • efficiently coordinate operational workloads and allocation of resources across the team and ensure quality outcomes are achieved within agreed service standards. 
  • lead and manage a multidisciplinary team with the use of highly-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • foster a fair and positive working environment, which supports and encourages highly motivated staff to achieve excellence in customer service and compliance outcomes   

Note: this role requires a Criminal History Check and ‘C’ Class Drivers licence for successful candidates
