Infrastructure Services Group brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.​

Our Branch

Transport Assets and Operations (TAO) has a key role to play in planning and maintaining Council's transport network and in implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to enable the efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight.

The Role

The Senior Strategic Transport Planner role at Brisbane City Council is a dynamic opportunity to spearhead transport planning initiatives for the city's roads, public transport systems, bikeways, and pedestrian networks. As a key player in the Network Planning team, you will lead investigations, provide high-level advice, and manage the development of major transport and traffic planning projects that align with the Transport Plan for Brisbane and Corporate Plan objectives.

Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Brisbane's integrated transport network, engaging in strategic research, stakeholder consultations, and report writing to ensure sustainable and efficient city-wide transport outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

  • ability to contribute to team direction and achieve performance excellence
  • demonstrated understanding of transport planning principles and methodologies for achieving sustainable outcomes
  • experience in planning urban transport systems at both a strategic and detailed level
  • strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders at various levels
  • capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • experience in government or the private sector in a professional field relevant to transport planning.
