Apprenticeship – Plumbing
If you’re starting your working life or looking for a fresh challenge, our nationally recognised apprentice program can help you gain skills, experience, and a secure future by gaining a Certificate III in Plumbing.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Plumber, you’ll work with our Trade Services team, which maintains Council-owned properties across Brisbane. You’ll work alongside the maintenance team on projects like installing park water taps, stormwater repairs, and assisting with minor civil construction works.
Your work may include:
- fixing and maintaining plumbing systems in Council buildings, from quick repairs to scheduled upkeep
- helping on projects in places like parks, gardens, libraries, community halls, and even cemetery irrigation
- installing and looking after pumps, irrigation systems, and solar water heating as part of your training
- learning on the job with experienced plumbers while studying at TAFE.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need prior plumbing experience, but we’d love to hear from you if you:
- have a keen interest in the plumbing trade
- enjoy practical, hands-on work and solving problems
- take safety seriously for yourself and your team
- are ready to learn at TAFE and on the job with a qualified mentor
- communicate well, follow instructions, and work positively in a team
- take pride in your work and own your results.
Plumbing can be dirty and demanding at times, but it’s rewarding work that makes a difference.
