Salary Range: (Grade 8) AUD $1520.80 per week plus superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Our Branch 

As part of the Asphalt and Aggregates branch, Road Surfacing and Road Maintenance manages and undertakes the maintenance, rehabilitation and resurfacing of Brisbane City Council’s road infrastructure keeping Brisbane safe, moving and connected. 

The Role 

As Skilled Team Leader of Grader Crew Operations, you will undertake all road maintenance associated with Council infrastructure as well as working externally on similar projects. You will lead performance excellence by setting clear direction, performance standards and expectations for individuals and teams. 

You will also provide constructive feedback to uplift performance and ensure team members obtain the development and support they need to perform to the best of their ability. 

Additional tasks include the coordination of day labour activities to meet customer expectations, costs and deadlines and ensure that works consistently conform to all safety policies and procedures. 

This position works on a dayshift roster. 

To be considered for this position you will: 

  • Contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.  
  • Undertake labouring tasks including competent use of general hand tools and plant items (e.g. rollers & vibratory plate compactors) in a safe manner and to deliver quality requirements. 
  • Operate the council grader on a variety of works to achieve a final trim standard utilising a variety of road materials. 
  • Ensure traffic management meets Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). 
  • Contribute to team outcomes by focussing on performance outcomes such as quality, timeliness and productivity. 
  • Grader Operations experience  

Note: A full pre-placement medical and functional assessment is required for this role. 

Mandatory requirements: 

  • C Class Driver Licence  
  • White Card - Work Safely in the Construction Industry
