Our Branch
Information Services enables digital and Information Technologies to help Council maintain and enhance its information, processes, and systems. We enable data driven insights to improve customer experience and decision making. We lead the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.
Why this role matters
In this leadership role you will play a critical role in ensuring information and technology systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with business objectives, leading the delivery of customer-focused cyber ICT governance, risk, and compliance across a large and diverse stakeholder network. This role is pivotal in ensuring resilience, security, and quality in Council’s ICT operations, while fostering strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors. This role is critical to the success of Information Services Program of Work and plays a key part in strengthening our internal capability under the Corporate Services strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion customer-focused service and performance excellence aligned with Council’s Leadership Blueprint
- drive cyber governance and compliance across Council-wide ICT systems and services, ensuring robust controls and risk management
- uplift cyber maturity in business-led information and operational technology
- provide expert cyber technology risk and compliance support to system and risk owners
- lead cyber security awareness programs
- collaborate with Digital Strategy, Innovation, and Architecture teams to deliver cost-effective assurance and security advice
- align Cyber, Operational Technology, and Digital Engineering teams with Council objectives through strong leadership
- promote a culture of responsiveness, innovation, and collaboration.
To succeed you will have
- Proven leadership experience in cyber ICT governance, risk, and compliance within a large, complex organisation
- strong knowledge of ISMS, cyber security frameworks, and ICT principles
- demonstrated ability to lead cyber technical teams and deliver strategic cyber security initiatives
- excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (desirable).
