About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Road Cleaning Supervisor to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality infrastructure maintenance services across the community. In this role, you will coordinate the effective use of people, plant and equipment to ensure public infrastructure is maintained to a high standard, safe for use, and fit for the future.
You will play a key role in planning and delivering both proactive and reactive maintenance programs, including road sweeping, cleaning and development works.
You will lead a strong customer-focused and values-based culture, setting clear expectations and driving performance through coaching, feedback and continuous improvement.
The role also requires managing operational budgets, maintaining accurate fleet and depot records, responding to customer enquiries, and preparing reports and recommendations to improve service delivery. A strong understanding of relevant legislation, including transport, safety and environmental requirements, is essential, along with a focus on innovation and service optimisation.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- ability to lead performance through setting clear direction and expectations, providing support and feedback, and monitoring ongoing performance of individuals and the team
- demonstrated knowledge of and proven experience in applying the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act, the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations in an operational field environment, along with sound knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity policies and practice.
- extensive demonstrated experience in infrastructure maintenance, with a proven ability to coordinate, plan and deliver high-level reactive and planned maintenance programs within approved budgets
- knowledge of and ability to apply legislation relevant to the road sweeping industry, particularly the Transport Operations (Road Use) Act 1995 and Chain of Responsibility legislation
- demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to provide advice, influence outcomes and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, including external customers and suppliers
- demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word.
