Branch: Governance, Council and Committee Services

Salary Range: (Band 5) AUD $91,900 to $104,172 per annum + superannuation + benefits

Work type: Temporary full-time

Our Branch:

The Governance, Council and Committee Services branch provides a high level of administration support and customer service to elected representatives.

The Role

The Council and Committee Liaison Office provide administrative support to Council, Civic Cabinet meetings and Standing Committees meetings to ensure all decisions comply with relevant legislation and policies.

The Council and Committee Officer provides high quality administrative support to elected representatives, CEO and Divisional offices with respect to Council, Civic Cabinet, and Standing Committee meetings.

The role is responsible for the coordination, prioritisation and workflow of submissions, minutes, petitions, reports and agendas as well as providing advice, research and quality control for meeting documentation.

To be successful you will have:

  • highly developed oral and interpersonal communication skills in a sensitive and confidential environment
  • proven customer service skills to deal appropriately with elected members of Council
  • proven ability to assist and contribute to the planning, prioritisation, and management of workflows in a complex environment
  • demonstrated ability to provide high quality accurate policy and governance advice
  • demonstrated high level written communication skills
  • experience in government or the private sector in a professional field relevant to business support.
