Salary Range: Band 4 $89,207 - $95,764 per annum + Superannuation

(Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Duration: Up to 6th October 2028 (Extension/s thereafter but not guaranteed)

Our Branch 

The Sport and Recreation Branch plays a key role in supporting community facilities and venues across Brisbane. The Branch works across planning, partnerships, and service delivery to enable inclusive access to sport, recreation, and community facilities for people of all ages and abilities. 

The Role 

The Operations Officer is an integral member of the Community Facilities team. This role is responsible for supporting operational activities to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the City Hall and King George Square Precinct. Within this role, you will collaborate with a range of stakeholders to resolve complex issues through evidenced-based decisions under minimal direction. Working closely with the City Hall Operations Manager, you will provide timely and effective advice and support.  

Day to day in this role will see you undertake a variety of tasks to ensure City Hall and King George Square meets the needs to Council, tenants, and the public. You will assist and support a range of daily functions including but not limited to peaceful assembly bookings, overseeing contractors, security operations, administration, preparing correspondence, and finance procurement activities. 

This role will suit someone who is highly organised and demonstrates the ability to work in a busy operational work unit. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to develop and maintain rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  

City Hall is open during normal business hours, however, as part of this role you will also need to be available occasionally outside of normal business hours and on the weekend as per business needs.

  • be an excellent team player who is able to contribute positively to the team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment  
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • be able think on your feet to solve complex problems with minimal direction 
  • demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships 
  • have excellent attention to detail.
