Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.​

Our Branch

Project Management Branch (PMB) delivers project management, assurance and commercial services for service owners across Council. We work closely with asset owners to turn approved investments into delivered infrastructure and services, while improving how projects are planned, governed and tracked across the full lifecycle.

Story Bridge Renewal Program

Brisbane City Council is extending the life of the Story Bridge for another 100 years. This incredible role will join the Story Bridge Renewal Program, a dedicated team that is leading the restoration of Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge.

The Role

Lead the design management function for the Story Bridge Renewal Program, managing multidisciplinary design consultants and coordinating design development activities across delivery packages to achieve integrated, fit-for-purpose, safe and constructable design outcomes. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring design delivery, facilitating design reviews, managing technical interfaces and ensuring design services effectively support program delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Success in this role will require the ability to operate effectively within a complex and dynamic major infrastructure program, navigating evolving priorities, emerging risks, multiple stakeholder interfaces and an evolving organisational environment while maintaining focus on successful delivery outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

• demonstrated experience in design management and coordination for large, complex infrastructure, engineering or capital works projects, including the planning, management and delivery of multidisciplinary design activities and deliverables.
• demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to balance project delivery objectives with broader operational, stakeholder and organisational requirements.
• demonstrated experience leading and managing consultants, specialist advisors and service providers to achieve integrated and effective project outcomes.
• demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex project environments and integrated project teams, building productive relationships and coordinating activities
• demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, design interfaces, risks and issues associated with the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
• demonstrated high level communication, including high level written and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

A Bachelor of Engineering that satisfy the academic requirements for membership of Engineers Australia is mandatory requirement for this role.

A valid Criminal History Check is a mandatory requirement for this role.
