As part of City Planning and Design, Design Brisbane is Council’s centre of excellence for design. We lead the city’s design strategy and drive the architecture and urban design agenda. Our work supports planning and policy development for the city centre, neighbourhoods, infrastructure, and public spaces – fostering growth, diversifying the economy, and protecting Brisbane’s enviable lifestyle.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Architect to provide expert architectural and design advice across a wide range of development applications and projects.
As Senior Architect, you will contribute to significant, large-scale, and high-profile projects across Brisbane, occasionally providing strategic advice on complex matters. This role offers the chance to influence the city’s future through innovative design solutions.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where adaptability and responsiveness are key to managing a dynamic workload.
To achieve success in the role, you will:
- demonstrate your experience in applying best practice architectural/urban design principles when assessing development applications
- build strong working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- demonstrate an ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- work collaboratively across internal teams to deliver aligned outcomes
- work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- be an effective negotiator who can influence positive outcomes
- proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
