Location: You will be required to work across Ferny Grove, Nudgee, Willawong and Chandler Resource Recovery Centres and Brisbane landfill at Rochedale.

Environment, Parks and Sustainability Services unites teams dedicated to managing our natural environment, enhancing sustainability, engaging with the community to build city and community resilience, and providing essential bin collection services that reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Our Branch
Waste and Resource Recovery Services (WaRRS) branch delivers waste management, resource recovery, litter prevention and waste minimisation initiatives for Brisbane residents. WaRRS aims to provide essential bin collection services for Brisbane and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
The Role
You will oversee green waste operations and customer interactions at various Resource Recovery Centres, ensuring waste operations are consistent with policies and procedures and environmental regulations. Key responsibilities of the role include monitoring contamination/quality of green waste loads, managing contamination, reporting and analysis, conducting site inspections and audits both at Council’s waste and third-party contractor facilities.
This role requires customer interactions including providing feedback regarding green waste services, participation in an on-call roster, reasonable after-hours activities and overtime when required by business needs and/or disaster events.
To be successful you will have:
- Current C class driver’s licence
- Experience in green waste operations ensuring environmental compliance
- Skilled in delivering field-based customer service and issue resolution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Competent in data analysis and reporting for service improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
