About the role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Urban Cleaning Supervisor to lead and support a multi-disciplinary team delivering cleaning, graffiti removal and graffiti reduction services across the city.
This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations to ensure public spaces and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard, supporting a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the community now and into the future. You will plan and deliver both proactive and reactive work programs, ensuring the efficient use of people, plant and equipment.
As a leader, you will role model a strong customer focus and values-based culture aligned with Council’s Leadership Blueprint . You will set clear expectations, provide feedback and support to your team, and identify risks and opportunities arising from the continued growth of the city.
The role also involves managing budgets, maintaining accurate records, responding to customer enquiries and preparing reports to improve operational efficiency. A strong understanding of environmental, safety and compliance requirements, along with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, is essential.
To be successful you will need:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- extensive experience in infrastructure maintenance, with proven ability to coordinate, plan and deliver reactive and planned programs including cleaning, graffiti removal and graffiti reduction strategies
- demonstrated financial management skills, including the ability to monitor, control and manage operational activities within approved budgets
- strong communication and customer focus skills, with the ability to manage difficult situations calmly and professionally, supported by strong literacy and administrative capability
- experience identifying risks and impacts associated with city growth and working with stakeholders to implement effective solutions
- demonstrated knowledge of and experience applying the Environmental Protection Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations in an operational environment, along with sound knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity practices
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
