Our Branch
The Community Halls team manages the venue hire and operations of hireable spaces in community facilities across the city, taking over 22,000 bookings a year. The halls are an affordable and accessible portfolio of venues provided in over 27 locations across Brisbane and they are valuable community assets that support the very fabric of a community.
The Role
As the Community Halls Operations Coordinator you will ensure the community halls meet the needs of hirers, tenants, and the public. This will involve:
- The coordination of facility services
- liaison with and scheduling a variety of contractors (for both reactive and planned maintenance)
- regular engagement with internal areas of Council (including Facility Managers Corporate Security and Accommodation Services)
- preparation of internal and external communications and reports
- use of varied systems (including our booking management system and security access system), and day-to-day operations.
You will join a high performing team who collaborate with each other and thrive on open communication, sharing ideas, team achievements and supporting each other where they can.
This role is largely reactive and suits individuals who think on their feet, thrive under pressure and can easily adapt to unexpected changes in schedule whilst managing BAU activities. If you enjoy an active operational role and diverse stakeholder engagement apply within.
What is needed to be successful in this role:
- experience in community facilities operational management
- well-developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse customers and staff at all levels
- demonstrated coordination and decision-making skills within a fast-paced operational environment
- contribute to a team in order to achieve positive outcomes and provide a quality service to customers
- strong administrative skills to maintain policies, procedures and systems related to operational management of community facilities and venues.
- ‘C’ Class Driver Licence
This role offers the opportunity to participate in an after-hours on-call roster (4.30pm –8.30am, approximately once every 6 weeks, responding to phone calls).
