Public Space Operations is a customer focused and commercially driven business services delivery team, that prides itself on keeping Brisbane’s streets and public spaces clean, green and safe for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. 

The Role

We are seeking an accomplished Arboriculture Delivery Manager to provide senior leadership of Council’s city-wide tree maintenance program, ensuring safe, reliable and commercially disciplined service delivery for the community.

In this role, you will lead the commercial and operational functions of the Arboriculture business, with accountability for a $30 million budget, forecasting, performance reporting and the delivery of agreed service outcomes for internal clients. 

You will lead a geographically dispersed, trade-qualified operational workforce of approximately 40 employees, supported by scheduling and contract management functions. The team operates year-round, including 24/7 response arrangements during storms, emergencies and natural disaster events. 

A key focus of the position will be to set clear performance expectations, uphold safety and quality standards, oversee incident and injury management, and ensure the workforce is appropriately supported through effective fleet, equipment and resource planning. 

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be expected to demonstrate consistent leadership, drive operational excellence and embed continuous improvement practices to achieve budget, timeframe, safety and quality objectives.

To be successful you will have:

• proven experience leading large operational teams and contractors to deliver safe, high-quality services
• strong commercial acumen with expertise in contract management, budgeting and performance delivery
• exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong partnerships
• a track record of driving continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence in complex environments
• well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on complex business and operational issues.
