The Governance Council and Committee Services branch is responsible for providing administrative and policy support to the Ward Offices to help achieve the best outcomes for the community.

Our Ward Offices are Brisbane resident’s physical connection to Brisbane City Council and everything the Council offers. At its heart, our Ward Offices are strongly focused on connecting communities, promoting everything Brisbane has to offer and delivering exceptional customer services for residents.

The Ward

The Gabba Ward Office is proud to be the voice for the residents of Kangaroo Point, Dutton Park, West End, Highgate Hill, South Brisbane and the western side of Woolloongabba. Demographically, The Gabba Ward is one of Brisbane's youngest and most culturally diverse parts of the city, with a high population of renters. The Gabba Ward is also home to a diverse group of residents, including professionals, families, older empty nesters, artists and students alike.

Our ideal candidate is someone with a flexible, solutions based and agile attitude who can take the initiative to keep the office and administration tasks organised. You’ll be joining a small but dedicated and collaborative team. Your solutions based attitude will enable you to succeed in a busy office environment with competing demands and priorities.

Although primarily based at the Gabba Ward Office, this role may require occasional travel out of the office to events, which may fall outside of regular office hours (including weekends). This is a part-time temporary role, 3 days per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • experience providing exceptional customer service
  • excellent administration and organisational skills
  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
