Our Branch

Support Services provides Council's efficient back-of-house support ensure more resources can be focused on Council’s front-line service delivery. The Financial Management & Operations team is part of Support Services and is responsible for the timely and accurate billing and collection of Council’s revenue, cost-effectively billing the right customer, the right amount and at the right time.

The Role

As a Billing & Receipting Support Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering customer focused service by resolving enquiries within delegation, escalating when required and modelling professional service standards.
  • Working collaboratively with the Team Leader to meet agreed performance expectations, exchange constructive feedback and take responsibility for personal development.
  • Supporting accurate and compliant revenue operations by completing billing, receipting, administration, reconciliations, reporting and payment processing in line with legislation and Council policies.
  • Prioritising workloads effectively, analyse financial and system data to solve problems and maintain confidentiality and accuracy in a high volume environment.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, contribute to a positive team culture and assist with reconciling electronic payment files and bank account transactions.

The role provides quality customer focussed support to assist team members in the performance of their role with the aim of achieving business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a team player who is committed, determined, and customer focused with a high attention to detail.

 To be successful you will have:

  • The ability to contribute to team direction, exchange constructive feedback and meet agreed performance standards to support a culture of excellence.
  • Demonstrated customer focused approach, resolving issues within delegation or escalating appropriately to ensure timely service.
  • Proven capability to recognise and report opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills, including interrogating corporate systems and interpreting financial data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage confidently with a range of customers.
  • Demonstrated experience entering high volumes of financial data accurately and reconciling batches and financial transactions.
