Salary Range: Band 3: $82,008 - $87,334 per annum + Superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Our Branch  

Support Services Centre (SSC) is comprised of several multiple award-winning teams that provide core services and support to our internal customers. SSC provides an enormous range of support to all areas of Council and is comprised of over 500 individuals delivering front-line services for the rate payers of Brisbane. 

With multiple teams operating within SSC, and the wider Organisational Services division there is vast opportunity for career progression, upskilling and professional development. 

The Role 

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Supplier Services Warehouse at our Wacol depot. Drawing from your experience you will work as part of a strong team that supplies an essential service to Brisbane City Council. 

  • work with a variety of internal stakeholders to develop plans for the supply of goods and services 
  • purchase of goods and services through obtaining the best beneficial price and trading terms 
  • manage day to day operations of the warehouse including undertaking and overseeing any administrative tasks needed 
  • adhering to Quality Management Process to ensure maximum efficiency, including recording opportunities for improvement and adding value. 
  • preparing and providing inventory reports, analysing data and prepare management reports to meet key performance index markers for the warehouse. 

To be successful you will have: 

  • demonstrated experience in the management of inventory, physical storage space and material handling 
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands and urgent requests 
  • demonstrated experience in using large scale computerised supply systems 
  • demonstrated experience in the purchase of goods and services through obtaining the best beneficial price and trading terms 
  • strong customer service skills with a focus on meeting customer needs 
  • demonstrated experience working in a team to achieve agreed performance standards 
  • strong safety skills focusing on zero harm and hazard management 
  • A valid C Class Drivers licence and Forklift Licence. 

A Certificate III in Warehousing Operations, a Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card), and previous experience in using purchasing and warehousing modules as a part of a supply system are desirable but not mandatory.
