Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Our Branch
Transport Assets and Operations (TAO) plays a vital role in managing Brisbane's transport network, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and freight across our roads, bikeways and shared paths. Through the management of critical transport infrastructure and operational services, TAO helps keep Brisbane moving and supports the city's growth, liveability and economic prosperity.
The Role
This opportunity is a once in a lifetime chance to play a crucial role in preparing our city for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Transport Planning and Games Coordination Specialist will act as a central point of coordination for the Games transport planning and transport readiness issues between various internal and external stakeholders. Supporting the Senior Manager Major Projects Planning, the successful individual lead the coordination, integration and documentation of Council’s review of transport matters relating to the Games projects, including venues, the Athlete Village and state-led transport initiatives, while also leading the coordination of Council’s transport program for Council-led projects and operational readiness activities.
To be successful you will have:
- highly developed and demonstrated experience of interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to build positive working relationships to influence key stakeholders
- excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and advocacy skills with a proven ability to effectively influence, communicate, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- demonstrated experience of high level analytical, research and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesise and summarise complex issues, identify contentious and emergent issues and develop practical recommendations and options for their resolution
- extensive demonstrated experience in transport planning, strategic planning, infrastructure planning or transport program coordination including tertiary qualification in civil engineering, transport planning, urban and regional planning or another relevant technical transport discipline
- proven leadership of projects to deliver high-quality transport planning and infrastructure solutions that represent value for money, are ‘fit for purpose’ and meet the needs of a growing city
This role requires a Criminal History Check and a tertiary qualification in civil engineering, transport planning, urban and regional planning or another relevant technical transport discipline.
You may be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
