The Business

​​​​​​​Corporate Services support, equip and help guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.

Information Services branch (ISB) delivers digital and information technologies to maintain and enhance Council’s information, processes and systems, and enable data driven insights to improve decision-making and customer experience.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Role

The Senior Solution Architect provides vision, leadership, and guidance leading specified solution and design activities to deliver ICT solutions for business problems in a dynamic, evolving environment.

In this role you will investigate, research and develop ICT solution options that meet customers’ business objectives, ICT requirements, and long-term organisational goals.

You will provide high-quality solution options and design artefacts for the implementation phase of an ICT or change project that meet customers’ business objectives.

You will have considerable knowledge and experience delivering architect solutions to resolve and meet a diverse range of businesses and customer needs.

In this role you will:

  • lead the ICT solution and design activity
  • provide architecture advice and problem solve architecture or design issues
  • provide leadership, consultancy and guidance to customers and projects
  • plan solution and design approach, obtain endorsement, and produce design artefacts
  • have knowledge and analysis of future technologies and industry initiatives
  • provide expert advice in the development of corporate and divisional ICT strategic and operational plans.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate alongside multi-disciplinary teams
  • demonstrated expertise and ability to lead and facilitate the review and development of solution architecture methodologies
  • demonstrated expertise in establishing and managing relationships with a wide range of customers and stakeholders
  • substantial knowledge and demonstrated experience in multiple ICT domains and environments
  • strong working experience of solution architecture, project management and development of solution options
  • demonstrated ability to compile and deliver presentations, briefings and reports on project options, designs, and outcomes.

The ICT solutions fall within the remit of the Application Delivery Team, typically non-platform technology, COTS/SaaS (Custom off the Shelf/Software as a Service) solutions and the related analysis which supports their delivery into the operational side of the business.
