Our Branch

City Communication leads, develops, implements, advises on and evaluates all external communication for the whole of Council. The team work delivers strategic, innovative communication plans across all communication channels and responds to campaign queries.

The Team

Council's Digital team consists of skilled professionals with expertise in digital strategy, customer/user experience, and channel management. We handle content production, campaigns, User Experience (UX), accessibility, vendor management, and reporting, whilst working cohesively with other teams to ensure security and brand alignment.

The Role

Your role as Content Producer, will be instrumental in facilitating content updates on our corporate website in collaboration with different stakeholders across Council. On a daily basis, you may write content, complete image optimisation, produce metrics reporting and identify areas for improvement on Council’s website.

The digital team you will be joining are creative, very collaborative and supportive.. They are customer centric and the key point of contact to manage Council's digital channels including websites, e-newsletter systems and the Brisbane app.

To be successful in the role you will effectively:

  • write, edit and produce content for the corporate website
  • develop, test and deliver content for the corporate website and monitor systems to ensure currency, accuracy and accessibility of content
  • coordinate all aspects of content production, including day to day enhancements, content research and project production, search engine optimisation, quantitative analysis, QA and technical staff liaison
  • maintain best practice, new research and knowledge of developing trends in the global digital communications landscape
  • research, analyse and report on customer trends, and provide advice to the team leader regarding content and user experience issues
  • develop relationships with customers and external partners to develop to influence their understanding of usability and accessibility issues in the web environment.

Please note: This role may require participation in an on-call roster, reasonable after-hours activities and overtime when required by business needs and/or disaster events. The role may also be required in other areas of City Communication from time to time.
