The Information Services branch (ISB) at Brisbane City Council is looking for a Business Analyst Practice Manager. You’ll be the driving force behind business analysis excellence across the ISB Program of Work. You’ll lead a team of brilliant Business Analysts, set the gold standard for analysis practices and provide business analysis across a diverse portfolio of Council ICT projects.
A Day in the Life
You might start your morning with a stand-up meeting about digitising permit applications, or debriefing with your team around artificial intelligence, then spend your afternoon running an elicitation workshop with stakeholders relating to cyber security, and end the day celebrating a team win with coffee and cake. No two days are the same—and that’s just how we like it. Our portfolio is extensive, which means you and your team could be working on a variety of exciting projects, making a real difference for our people and the residents of Brisbane.

Our Branch
Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.
What You’ll Do
- Champion customer-focused innovation and knowledge sharing
- Lead with values and performance excellence, in line with Council’s Leadership Blueprint
- Create, champion, drive and support standards of business analysis across ISB
- Develop strategic business analysis and monitoring strategies, systems and processes enabling consistent and optimal service delivery in line with strategic objectives
- Design monitoring strategies and systems for consistent service delivery
- Oversee the design and delivery of dashboards and reports to track benefits
- Advocate for transparent governance and end-to-end process excellence
