The key purpose of Information Services branch (ISB) is to deliver digital and information strategies, and the enabling technologies and leadership, to maintain and enhance Council’s information, processes, and systems. ISB is the driving force behind Council’s digital evolution, setting the direction for how digital technologies connect and extend services while optimising Council operations.

The Role

Council is seeking an Application Support Analyst who can provide advice on, and support of, enterprise applications. Working with application support officers, this role oversees support and change coordination, manages escalations, meets with vendors, and coordinates high priority incidents. As well as transitioning new applications into support and representing enterprise applications at technical and change groups within the broader advisory groups.

This role deals with complex and technical application integration aspects, while undertakes the ongoing implementation, maintenance, and documentation of ICT operational procedures. In this role you will provide stakeholder focused, specialist advice and support to business partners, customers and vendors ensuring their engagement with Council ICT is a positive experience.

You will use your technical expertise in enterprise applications and technology to ensure applications perform, and are managed, maintained, and supported. Your technical understanding of both ICT support, and enterprise application lifecycle management, coupled with your performance focus, and ability to coordinate and engage people, will ensure your success.

To be successful you will have:

  • superior communication and client focused skills, ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, coach and provide constructive feedback, and perform well in collaborative team settings
  • ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders and external service providers, and the ability to resolve issues or conflict
  • organisational, coordination and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage incidents and tasks aligned to ITIL and agreed SLAs
  • ability to analyse, diagnose and resolve complex ICT issues for enterprise applications
  • experience in providing ICT troubleshooting advice and support for complex ICT applications
  • ability to acquire and maintain advanced technical understanding of enterprise application technologies
  • an understanding of impacts of incidents on other technologies or environments such as databases, servers, networks, and integrations
  • ability in developing and promoting ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / test / change and configuration management.
