Salary Range: Band 7 $132,572- $144,942 + Superannuation

Work type: Temporary full-time until January 2027 (maternity leave cover)

Location: Visible Ink, Fortitude Valley

The Role

Lead citywide programs that empower Brisbane’s young people. Council is committed to creating a city where young people feel supported, included and empowered. As the Team Leader Youth, you will lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering innovative programs, services and spaces that help young people thrive, including the Lord Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, National Youth Week, suburban youth initiatives and youth facility partnerships across Brisbane.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone passionate about youth development, community outcomes and strategic program delivery, with the ability to influence outcomes at both local and citywide levels.

About the Role

  • leading the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of youth strategies, programs and services
  • managing team performance, workflows, budgets and operational priorities
  • coordinating citywide youth initiatives including Visible Ink Valley and partnership youth spaces
  • building strong partnerships with government, community and youth-sector stakeholders
  • providing strategic advice on emerging youth-related issues and program governance

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated experience leading high-performing, values-based teams in complex environments
  • strong capability in designing, delivering and evaluating youth or community development programs
  • excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills across government, community and service partners
  • confidence managing budgets, contracts and operational delivery alongside strategic priorities
  • ability to work independently, manage competing demands and deliver outcomes within timeframes.
